Battery is unacceptable. However if you do play video games and need a practical high quality and very powerful computer this is the one for you. Everything and I mean everything about this computer is great. Can run games better than my PC can. The only thing you have to get around is the battery but when you play games it doesn’t matter because it has to be plugged in anyway. Other than that it’s perfect.

Good power I had no trouble playing any game with it even with a 4K monitor. I took it with me on a vacation, after I took it out of the suitcase it had a lot of problems with going to sleep. I turn it on press a character it goes to sleep. I wake it back up I start typing again it goes back to sleep. I leave it alone for an hour come back I can use it for 2 minutes and then it goes back to sleep. I wake it up and I can use it for about 3 seconds and it goes back to sleep. It felt like a temperature issue so I downloaded some temperature monitoring software and no temperature problem it just wants to go back to sleep. I run Windows update but the problem still persists. This is a good laptop as long as you don't ever put your laptop in a suitcase.

Update: this seems to have gone away later idk what was going on then. Make sure you have a backup device if you take this with you traveling.

I have been OBSESSED with this laptop since I got it. I love to game so I had been needing to get a proper gaming laptop. This thing is a BEAST. It has a beautiful 144hz display and a graphics card that is very capable for the games that I play. I gave battery life 4 stars because it could be a bit better, but anyone who games should 100% be using this laptop plugged in to experience the full power. And this laptop has EXCELLENT build quality; It’s on the expensive side but the build makes up for it. This laptop can give me framerates of up to 144 fps on high to ultra settings in some games. Overall, I completely recommend this laptop for a person that plays triple a titles or someone like me that plays a mixture of graphics intensive and light games.

I've had multiple laptops over the years, some gaming types among them. Usually I'm replacing a dead unit, and the performance boost just never matches the specs. BUT: The Razor Blade is amazing. Everything is smooth and fast. The same monitor looks better than I knew it could, the same old mouse is brisk and precise. Super easy setup with no bloatware. Seems very solid and well-made, much heavier than its small volume would suggest. Runs warm, but not hot, with high-intensity games. Very quiet internals. Sound volume is about par for laptops, and I have no discernment regarding audio quality. Designed for upgrades, so relatively "future-proof."
Assuming good lifespan, would definitely buy this brand again.

Got this in June 2020 and it has been good to me so far, read a lot of negative reviews from users online about this quality issue and receiving faulty units with screen bleed or coil whine issues but idk if i got lucky or smth but my unit does not have any of those issues. Love the build quality, dropped it once with the screen open and nth but a small scratch on the tip of the edge on the lid. The keyboard will take some time to get used to, i prefer not the type for long on this laptop. Mostly use it for casual gaming (FIFA20,FM,Planet Zoo) & Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator and this is more then capable of handing those tasks. The metal uni-body is great but also a fingerprint magnet.

Had a 2012 macbook pro for years but wanted to game more on my laptop. Got this on sale a few months ago for $1099 - was hesitant as there are many contradictory reviews out there, but this has been fantastic for running new games at 60+ frame rates. Definitely worth a buy if you see it at the reduced price. 256GB SSD is quite small but it's pretty easy to add a second SDD yourself if you have the right screwdriver. Also got a cooling pad as it runs quite hot on your lap.

Everything about my new Razer Blade 15 (2019) with GTX 1660Ti is perfect from build quality to performance. The only problem I have is that when using Bluetooth with my Samsung Galaxy Buds, every 2 minutes or so, the audio breaks a little and can be very annoying. INITIAL REVIEW:
I have had this laptop for just about a week and it's everything I've asked for. I bought this as an all around laptop. For my school work it allows me to bring it around and runs productivity apps perfectly. The camera quality is good as far as laptops cameras. It allows me to conduct zoom meetings for class and work with ease. Gaming is a beast with this computer. I can run the new Cold War beta at almost max specs. Gaming is amazing and runs just like these desktops. The only downside is that the frame doesn't compare but that's solely because these are laptop components which don't run to the maxes as desktops. This laptop has handled top gaming while streaming with no strain on the cpu or gpu. The fans, the fans will be loud when run high end titles like Modern Warfare. Although this can ruin silence it's what to be expected when you have these high usages on a sleek laptop. The fans are quieter than expected but are louder than what people expect when comparing this to a desktop. Overall great product and well worth the money.

Let me start this off by saying that I have owned my Razer Blade since early March of this year and have used it for up to 17 hours straight almost every day since then.

Between gaming, streaming movies and having to do online school work this little guy has kept me impressed and happy since day one of owning it.
My biggest concern upon ownership was how some people have experienced heavy thermal throttling and overheating issues, but I have never experienced any troubles after constant hours of abuse so I may have gotten lucky on that front. But do people just not expect that it is going to get hot? This thing is packing a 6 core cpu and am RTX 2060, on full load it is going to be hot and the chassis being as thin as it is (minifigure for scale) you cannot unfairly expect that it is going to stay at 40 degrees while you’re running GTA V or Modern Warfare on high end settings.

Overall there is not much I can say other than my own positive experiences. The Razer Blade 15’ is a beautifully crafted and designed notebook that is very capable of keeping up with the big dogs and to be able to experience ray tracing on the go (with the battery plugged in of course) in such a sleek and sturdy laptop is truly an amazing experience.
I have been purchasing Razer peripherals for years now and not once have I been dissatisfied because I know they are taking the extra steps needed to ensure that at the end of the day, people can be satisfied with their products wether it be a high end laptop or a value keyboard. It’s something that makes me keep coming back to them and they really have earned a lifelong customer.

My initial review has been adjusted due to the laptop not being at fault for my capture card not working. It was in fact the thunderbolt 3 cable that failed. A replacement cable from Amazon has addressed my problem.

The laptop does however have issues with its thermals (particularly since the fans are all located at the base of the unit). The acoustics are also quite loud as a result.

I highly recommend using the drivers on razer’s support page for the laptop instead of updating them via windows update or intel’s website to avoid crashes and instability.

Great laptop, runs dayz on normal settings fine. If you change it to gaming settings on the laptop you can probably run stronger games. Runs very hot! Playing for an hour and had to stop because my legs were on fire.

    OVERVIEW:
The Blade 15 is a great option for mid-tier gaming laptops. The quality and finish of the machine is very nice and has a lovely matte texture. It has a lot of great options for upgrades and has a decent amount of ports for various I/O needs. I've mostly used it for video/photo editing, and it handles it all with ease. The SSD is very fast and makes my workflow easy. I've played a few games on it (Skyrim, Borderlands, Flight Sim), and they've all performed fairly well on "high" settings with the 1660ti GPU. If you are looking to do a lot of gaming, however, I would most likely upgrade the GPU to a 2070 Super, or something along those lines, if you want a more robust and seamless gaming experience with the best graphics and framerates.

    PROS:
    1. 144hz matte screen is BUTTERY smooth, the screen is nearly edgeless, and the colors are accurate
    2. The hexacore i7 chip is fast and handles multiple programs with ease
    3. The boot-up time and program startups are very quick with the nvme SSD
    4. The fans aren't too loud, even under heavy gaming
    5. The keyboard is solid and doesn't have any noticeable flex. The keys have a decent amount of travel, and the layout is properly proportioned.
    6. At $1099, this was a steal, so I'd wait for a deal like this to come around before purchasing
    7. Is capable of running a Razer external GPU for desktop-level performance, if needed

    CONS:
    1. Battery life is okay... I understand it's technically a gaming laptop, and should be plugged in... But I still think it should last more than 4-5 hours, with minimal use.
    2. The trackpad needs some work. Especially with the palm-rejection feature. It can become quite frustrating if you'll be doing a lot of writing, so I'd suggest switching to an external mouse.

Received my laptop a few months ago and wanted to work with it before I put out a review. Great and powerful laptop. I have the base model and can only imagine how much powerful the others are. I use my laptop for some light gaming but mostly engineering software that usually chokes up all my other past laptops. But with this it runs smoothly working with 2D and 3D software. Could be a bit pricey for some but I'd strongly recommend for those running powerful engineering software.

This laptop is great I bought it so that I can play games on it and do a little bit of school work since classes are online and I’m glad I got this laptop. I think one of the best reasons why I think it was worth it was cause I got it on sale for 1,298 instead of 1,599. The laptop is really fast and runs smooth especially with games and videos everything looks so clear and crisp especially with the 144hz screen. The fans do get hot but that’s normal for all gaming laptops once I put a cooling pad under its a lot better.

I got it on sale for $1099. The built quality and tracking pad are really good. I also like the look very much. I installed Ubuntu 20.04, running smoothly without problem. It boots right into Ubuntu without pressing F12 right now. It runs hot. I installed CPU power management, set it to run between 17%-30% of top speed, that is good for web browsing and word processing. CPU usually runs at 40-55C under this condition. I switch 20-50% or 20-80% or 20-100% if I need to.

solid gaming laptop but can get really hot. it is undervolted out of the box but you can still make more changes to get better temps. it gets most hot at the part under the screen but the area where you rest your palms is OK. i recommend to get a riser/cooling stand.

battery life is a bit short, you would have to do some tweaking to get the most out of it. (some claim theyre able to reach 6+ hrs. google/razer subreddit)

laptop is a fingerprint magnet, youd have to always clean it or get a skin like dbrand.

touchpad is amazing. screen is solid, accurate, i dont see any backlight bleed issues. keyboard can be better but OK for a gaming laptop. ports are great.

speakers are OK, dolby is present but not as good as macbooks’. lacks bass.

charger feels premium, cable to the laptop is braided, thick. 200Watts (so of course a little heavy)

There's no denying it that the Blade is a very well-built device. The display isn't premium (not this model anyways), but it's perfectly acceptable. It's great that you can expand the storage and memory, but be aware that the base model only supports up to 32GB (and it must be 2666Mhz).
Overall, the machine seems to perform really well, but there are a couple of power and thermal issues. I managed to get a whopping 25% increase in benchmark score on Cinebench R20 by doing just a couple of really simple things. Firstly, the machine can get rather warm, at which point it will thermal throttle. You can't beat physics, and in this case you've got an all-metal build (metal reflects heat) and it's also very compact (i.e less surface area to spread the heat). So one of the things that really helped a lot was to elevate the laptop. I just placed it on a plastic tray which has a bunch of holes in it, so this gave the fans tons of breathing room. Because of the heat build up, it also means that this laptop will hardly ever be "quiet". The fans are always going...it's not super loud, but definitely noticeable. Perhaps the advanced model with the better cooling architecture would not suffer to quite the same extent. So, lifting the laptop up is one of the big things I did to improve the performance.
The other thing to do is to undervolt the CPU, as this has a dramatically improved the performance. I initially used XTU, but then started using ThrottleStop and got much better results. With the cache undervolted by -0.140 and the core by -0.150 the temperatures dropped a fair margin and there was less power throttling. I also had to enable Speedshift EPP, and this (in combination with the undervolting) finally got the CPU to hit that 4.5GHz speed on single core. Also be sure to put the laptop in "Creator" mode in the Razer settings for best CPU performance.
I could actually get the core undervolted to up to -0.250 which saw a further increase in performance and reduction in temps, but it seems that one of my external hard drives didn't like this and I would get a BSOD. Running on battery also required less of an aggressive undervolt.
Using less power also means longer battery life, and by doing the undervolting I could go from around 2 hours of gaming to 2.5 hours.

Overall, I'm extremely happy with this laptop, and the price of $1099 was incredible. It's very well-built, genuinely feels premium, and the performance met my needs and expectations.

I've had this laptop for about 3 weeks now, and all i can say is that the build quality of this laptop is second to none. The keyboard is also good on this laptop, although the layout takes some time for adjusting.

Haven't really tried gamin on this yet, so i can't comment on that, but the battery on this thing is what one would expect in a gaming laptop. I will circle back and update my review on this unit once I'm able to test gaming on this.

(i7-9750h / 1660Ti) Mostly use this for light gaming and web browsing. Works great for things like Overwatch and Valorant and the 144Hz display is buttery smooth. Haven't used it to play more intensive games but most likely I don't want to play those games if I'm travelling or at someone elses place. It can get pretty warm after playing games for an hour or so but I've not seen a laptop even close to this price range that doesn't do that. The quality of this laptop is superb, coming from a Macbook Pro I wanted something built well and this certainly does that. Would highly recommend for casual gamers who want to have the portability to game anywhere and don't want to break the bank.

As a laptop gamer for the better part of two decades, the rapid progress made in the mobile computing field lately has made me extremely happy. While I normally buy used laptops several years after their release to save on costs, I managed to score a deal on this Blade 15 Base, and I could *not* be happier. It's a massive upgrade over my Blade 14 (2014) in every aspect.

Everything about it screams class, from the aluminum body to the matte black finish. It runs anything you can throw at it, at the full 1080p 144hz with a little tweaking, and it doesn't even break a sweat. Razer finally making user-upgradeable ram slots again is a welcome change from my previous Blade 14 (2014).

The screen resolution, computing power, and thermal envelope all work in balance for once, not pushing too far in any area to sacrifice one of aesthetics, power, or performance. Solid recommend from me.

    Pros:
    - Runs great. No overheating even under sustained load, stays about 80*C
    - Beautiful finish and feel, really is a premium product. No cheap plastic flex!
    - User-upgradeable storage and RAM is a big win over previous models.

    Cons:
    - This is petty AF, but the up-arrow is bumped into the shift row, and it's every bit as annoying as other reviewers say. You get used to it, but man it's irritating.
    - The matte black finish, while svelte and premium, does attract fingerprints. You'll get over that, or get a skin, or wipe it down now and then. No big deal.
    - Price. I'd argue it's worth it, but my god if you find a sale, snap it up.

Wanted to let everyone know, since there are so many bad reviews, that the unit i purchased was flawless! It was perfect and ran everything i needed perfect. I had to return it because it was not working with my UAD Apollo Twin X Interface which i use to make music. Its not laptops fault, its a gamble when it comes to a Mac audio interface, works on some pcs, some not. Pretty sad to have to return it tbh.

I bought this while it was on sale and it was a great buy. For gaming it does the job well and for work it is also good. The keyboard is nice, however not too tactile but not bad. It is a great buy for anyone who likes to game on the side as well as do work or productivity.
    I had two downsides though:
    1. The battery life is meh, i had it on low battery and I got around 4 hours, which isnt the greatest, but is okay considering its a gaming laptop.
    2. The heat while doing tasks that require using the GPU and CPU intensively gets kinda hot. After long periods of time, it gets to an uncomfortable amount of heat while trying to type on it. But you can still type it will just be a bit toasty.

Overall: For the price it's a steal and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to do gaming and work together. 4/5.

Got the 1660 TI model on its 500 dollar off sale. Took the money saved to add an SSD and double the ram. for 1400 dollars I now have a beast of a laptop that will replace my old macbook pro as my go to portable device. The build quality is impeccable, the keyboard is a joy to type on, the screen with its thin bezels in gorgeous and its graphical power far exceeds what you can get for its price tag. I edit video and game, and this machine keeps up perfectly well. I leave my heavy duty lifting to my 2080 Super Alienware, and everything else runs wonderfully on this device.

If you see this model on sale for its 1099 price, just grab it. You will thank yourself in the future that you did.

before hand, i bought the base model, i9 gtx 1660ti, 16gb ram.
First of all, it boots in just 9 seconds, i mean wow. But that's beside the point.
Before i bought this product, i read all the comments i could, i realized people had issues with it heating. I've had it for 2 weeks, and i can see why, this laptop does tend to heat up, but you have to put things into perspective. Performance in a sleek thin body with heat, or bulky heavy design.
Also location has to do with it, if you use on any surface that clogs fans, it will heat, if you use it in a hot room o place it will heat a bit. But thats a tradeoff im willing to take over its preforemance, and let me tell you, it's worth every penny!
    Hope this helps

This laptop is amazing. I bought it for $1099 and it goes on sale for that price so I’d wait and buy it then. This is the nicest looking computer I’ve ever seen and just looking at it justifies the price. You can maybe find some computers with similar performance or better for the same price but they all look like garbage compared to this. Games run great screen looks it’s great . Battery life is alright. Huge fingerprint magnet. Watch reviews though it’s so amazing the only con is the price but this is a great deal so really there’s no issues.

HUGE CON : my screen came in with like 3 stuck green pixels out of the box. Now a 1k computer shouldn’t come with problems but it’s so minor I decided not to return it. but just an fyi

I had seen the negative reviews and was really hesitant to spend a lot of money on this guy (i7 9750h 1660ti) but so far everything is working good! No heat issues (never even broke 80c under gaming and benchmarking with cinebench) although the keyboard area got a little warm, still pretty acceptable considering the form factor. Fans were okay, little bit too loud for my liking but I’m coming from a water cooled PC so I’m spoiled with silence. The screen is bright and color accurate so I could see myself editing photos and videos with this one comfortably. Anyways this laptop is pretty great and will update if anything else happens.

I've had this laptop for about a month now, and I'm surprised that in the beginning, it wasn't my first choice. Due to COVID-19, I am going to school online and wanted something I could game on and could do homework as well. My sister got the same model: Razer Blade 15 GTX 1660 Ti i7-9750H 144Hz 15.6" laptop, and for the sake of being different, I decided to spec out a similar Alienware M15 R1. The Alienware was extremely hot, noisy, crashed during multiple games, and the battery life was trash. When I contact Dell Support they told me that 1.5 hours was the expected battery life on their gaming PCs and that 102C was how hot they are expected to get. Anyway, I returned that and got this instead and it has been such an amazing product!
What drew me to Alienware was their build quality, but honestly, this feels more premium. The Razer Blade 15 is solid, has very little flex, and has a rigid and durable body. Since thermals were one of my biggest worries, I downloaded XTU and noticed that this beautiful little device comes undervolted -100mv which helps tremendously in not generating as much heat. It's SSD is very quick, and if you get the Base model you can put in a 2.5in HDD (you need 4 HDD screws) where the extended battery goes on the Advanced model. My battery life is around 5.75 hours with the screen at 60hz with battery saver on and medium brightness, and about 4ish hours with the screen at 144Hz. It can run Modern Warfare at about 60fps (or more, depending) in high settings with some shaders turned off, and it can run Insurgency Sandstorm at about 85fps in high settings. Running 3DMark on Steam, the way my settings are, I received a 5,388 in Time Spy with graphics at 5,655 and CPU at 4,253, and I received a score of 25,841 in Sky Diver with graphics at 45,357, Physics at 9,297, and combined at 16,592. In Synapse 3 you can assign thermal and RGB profiles to games and some applications which is neat. My only regret in not getting the Advanced model is because of the Per-Key RGB lighting that that has, so if you're into that kind of thing, the Base model only has Single-zone RGB.
Overall, this is a great product in a compact size with a premium feel, and I recommend it for anyone who is looking for a similar product.

    The Build:
The build quality is awesome on this thing. The hardware feel is the second best I have ever owned, narrowly edged out by my Macbook Pro. The screen is buttery smooth and great. I got a version with only 256 GB of storage, but if it gets too annoying, I love the fact I can swap it out for a 1 or 2 TB SSD later down the line. The keyboard is great to type on. Better battery life than I had expected given the hardware, though you should not buy a gaming laptop if battery life is among the most important issues to you.

    The Gaming:
I play mostly strategy and simulation games so I cannot really comment on how the 144Hz screen improves my gaming. But for my uses, the experience has been an A+. The laptop does get a little hot, but just on the bottom. That's something to lookout for if that concerns you.

I primarily purchased this laptop ( Intel Core i7-9750H 6 Core, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, 15.6" FHD 144H)
because I was in the market for a powerhouse laptop at really good price. This was it.

Direct from Amazon, I originally purchase this at $1399, but two days later it was further reduced to $1099, so I jumped on it. Luckily the first one hadn't shipped yet and I was able to cancel the order. When you couple this laptop with Amazon's 4 year warranty pricing it becomes possibly the best whole discounted powerhouse package that you can find in a laptop right now (June 2020). It is much cheaper than all of the competition and unlike most of the others, it is easily upgradeable.

***Access to the RAM, WiFi card, and Hdd's are right in front of you after removing a few #5 Torx screws. It's literally a 10-15 minute project to upgrade all of those parts.***

I do not use it for gaming so I cannot comment on the high heat issues that others speak of during gaming. However, I think that heat is par for the course if you are trying to game on any laptop! This especially in laptops like the Razer 15 that are still relatively thin and portable. I mean if you think about it there is a reason why true gaming systems these days are large form factor liquid cooled towers with multiple fans etc. And true gaming laptops if there is even such a thing are in the 17" form factor with three times the thickness of the Razer. Could you game with this? Yes, I believe you can.

I use this primarily for Day Trading so I ask this laptop to flex it's muscles on a daily basis. With wired Ethernet It does so without any issues using Windows 10 Home. No hardware driver issues at all. I have this connected to a Sonnetech Breakaway Puck eGPU with AMD graphics powering 4 MSI 32" 144 MHz monitors with zero issues. So it's the laptop screen plus 4 monitors in all.

As for RAZER build quality....I cannot speak highly enough, and I am very satisfied with their attention to simplicity and detail. I particularly like the heavy braided power cord, and mouse cord. Razer seems to be doing things right on many levels!!!

It is further my opinion that it doesn't make sense to spend twice as much on the 2020 OLED model for many reasons...! You need to do your own research on that. But it all comes back to what you want to use this laptop for and how you are going to use it.
For the day traders out there, I say look no further!!!

Lastly, I almost forgot to mention that battery life is decent as this particular model has a smaller battery in it due to the space that is available to add a 2.5" HDD to the unit. But once again give some good thought as to how you are going to actually use this. In the context of this review you are not going to be doing any serious gaming and/or day trading without your power cord connected, or at the very least, on standby nearby.

I'm absolutely delighted by my Razer Blade. It's powerful and well designed, which is not something common in gaming laptops. Most of those laptops are chunky and obnoxious; the Blade is slick, something I'd be proud to open up in a coffee shop, but also bring to a LAN party.

The performance is unquestionable. Top tier parts make for top tier performance and a top tier experience.

The one caveat I must add is that the Blade can get EXTREMELY HOT when charging, specifically the bottom and on the sides of the touch pad. If you always have your laptop on a desk and use an external keyboard and mouse, then this would be no problem. Otherwise it can get a little uncomfortable on your lap, and you'll probably want to wear some long sleeves to avoid burning your wrists.

This was my dream laptop for a long time, everything about this laptop screams quality, until I watched the videos on it, like always a gaming laptop requires a lot of battery to charge the parts and to make sure each part including the graphics card is up to its performance, the only problem is I barely noticed a difference in battery life when turning off the back-lit keyboard, putting it into battery saver mode and lowering the screens refresh rate. This beast is overpriced for what you are getting but if you have this money the only thing you will gain is a metal chassis that feels extremely premium, if that is worth the extra 200 dollars for you then by all means get this beast.

I have been using this laptop as my daily driver for quite a few months now. Battery life is great and on power saving mode allows me to squeeze 6-7 hours out of a single charge. The performance is great too, and allows my games to run without issue, no matter how intensive. While I love the product, you do pay for the quality, $2000 for my specific model. If you are planning to do computationally intensive tasks and want performance balanced with battery life (unlike most other gaming PCs that die quickly), then this laptop is for you.

Was looking for a laptop to create music and do my design work with; and I'm not an Apple person (not to mention the price) -- I originally purchased an Acer Helios 300; but the aesthetic was too gamer for a professional setting, and was a little clunky / loud.

This is, so far, the best laptop I've owned. Materials are excellent, feels premium, and is inspiring to work on (as a creative, this a big deal)... keyboard is solid, and screen is rad too. Only thing is the PWM flickering when brightness isn't at maximum is terrible if you have sensitive eyes. But at 300 nits I keep the brightness maxed out anyways and have a pair of blue-light blocking glasses for the evening, and it's perfect.

Super thrilled with this purchase, and excited to continue working on this beastly laptop for a long time. :)

Amazon has incorrectly advertised that this model (2019 Razer Blade 15 - RTX 2060) includes "Windows Hello" bio-metric security. This particular model is considered the Razer Blade 15 "Base" model, which according to Razer does not include the same webcam that is included with the "Advanced" models (though oddly enough the bezel still has the cutouts for the necessary IR sensors - making it appear that it is indeed "Windows Hello" compatible).

In any case, if you've purchased this model, and are going absolutely insane trying to get this feature to work (I wasted a good couple of hours updating drivers and thinking that I received a defective unit), now you know. I honestly do not know who to contact at Amazon to have the description corrected.

After way too much research and weighing pros and cons, I finally decided to pull the trigger on the 15" Blade Base model (with ethernet) with GTX 1660Ti. I needed something that would be overkill as a desktop replacement in the field. This is it.

Purpose: I work as a sound mixer in film production and occasionally we have musical elements that require a serious workstation. I needed a powerhouse for multi-tracking Pro Tools. I occasionally game on it, I'd say about 20% of the time, but primarily this is for sound/audio tasking in a professional environment.

    Pros:
    - specs. I love a laptop that can crush most desktops.
    - brilliant screen. Awesome colors, great contrast, and of course 144hz is mandatory for gaming. I can't use 60hz anymore, even for daily office duties, I can see the flicker now, and it fatigues me.
    - build quality is superb. It looks fantastic, feels exceptionally well made, definitely puts MacPro aesthetic and "quality" to shame. Also, durability is expected to be top notch. When I'm shopping for new equipment, if it's on demo in a store, I'll go in and do drop tests; spike it into the counter, slam it around, bend the screen, mistreat it, pound the keyboard, hit the trackpad, etc. Out of everything, this felt the best. No creaking of the chassis when you pick it up at a corner, no flex when you push on the case, none of that BS.
    - performance is incredible. I've never seen it hiccup or stall on anything, even when recording 5-6 tracks in ProTools with dozens of CPU-intensive plugins running. I loaded up some massive sessions (80+ tracks) with plugins on every slot, and it still wasn't even trying. Now I'll even do quick edits to sessions instead of firing up the desktop rig. I don't play Call of Dooty MW, but all the other modern and less modern games I threw at it were a cakewalk.
    - ports. it has the perfect combination. I have the Base model (w/ ethernet), and along with the USB-C port, there's really no reason why you can't match any desktop rig in terms of connectivity. I plugged in my Satechi USB-C breakout, and everything worked simultaneously.
    - aesthetic. I have to say it again, it looks phenomenal.

    Cons:
(these are VERY pessimistic, like if I was in a horrible mood and someone forced me to say negative things)
    - despite the screen being incredible, there is *some* light bleed at the corners (3 of 4, to be exact). I understand this to be a big flaw for some people, but I don't play visually dark games. Even when watching a dark scene in a movie, I can't tell. It's only on bootup when the screen is 99.99% black. Occasionally when Photoshopping I'll notice it, but again, it's very very minor in the overall perspective of having other colors/things on the screen.
    - keyboard takes getting used to. after 2 days it felt natural, but it's not the easiest learning curve. I have a mechanical keyboard on my desktop with Cherry Browns, so the contrast couldn't be more extreme, but I can flip flop between the two with no problem now. Also, per other peoples' comments, the arrows are definitely misplaced; they need to be moved one button/column over to the right, or swapped with the shift key.
    - battery life is pretty bad. But, this IS a gaming machine/desktop replacement. With screen brightness cranked and playing an intensive game, I can barely make it over 2 hours. Day to day office use with screen brightness set moderately, I can pull maybe 4-5 hours. It does recharge quickly, however.
    - fans. they're definitely there. this would be a legit negative trait. If you're in a bone quiet room doing emails and youtube, you'll barely hear them. But, if you're gaming, they get pretty loud. For the performance, this is a small caveat.
    - lid logo, this is the only other real "negative" quality for me. In a professional setting, I can't have it glowing, as much as I personally do love it. I skinned it with the matte black cover from SopiGuard. Still looks awesome.

Again, I just want to reiterate these cons are subtle at their worst. I wanted to give a thorough breakdown of the bad qualities, as mild as they are.

Overall: If you can afford it, do it. Get the 4-year warranty through Amazon (Asurion) so you have nothing to lose. I turn on the desktop rig significantly less now, when it's so easy to reach for the Blade and get work done. I'm not a brainless Razer fanatic by any means, but I have to admit, this is the best option out there right now, and I'm becoming a fan.

Just a bit of a con, I noticed the my cpu runs hot above 95C when I'm playing COD MW. This is already on undervolt. When I lowered boost clocks to 3.3-3.6GHz, the CPU temp became consistent maxing ay 82C.

Absolute BEAST when it comes to performance, and the refinement of the apps that support the games is something I didn't expect. Once you install your games you can add them to the selection list and BOOM the Synapse app bumps up performance and shuts down background services so you get the full focus of the hardware. Also I am a Mechanical engineer who does some gaming so I need a professional looking laptop that can run CAD software. I had the SurfaceBook 2 but it was an absolute train wreck once the new versions of Windows 10 (1809 & 1903) were released. This laptop has more brute strength and is much smaller than my SB2 .

La laptop es increíble. La pantalla, teclado y materiales son premium.
    Observaciones:
WTF

Premium machine for a premium price...initial impressions and considerations

    Model: Razer Blade 15 w/ i7-9750H, 16GB, 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD, GTX 1660Ti, 15.6" Full HD 144Hz Panel

Quality - Right from the unboxing, the experience is a premium one. The black box is beautiful with thick walls, a magnetic flap, and has green accents. The RB15 is wrapped in plastic inside the box. Once unboxed and upon picking up the RB15, its sturdiness, rigidity, and solid build quality can immediately be sensed. It is thin and light yet solidly built. It will be hard to find a better looking and more solid laptop in this class.

Software - Windows 10 Home was free of bloatware, something that separates out Razer from most of the competitors.

Display - The machine came with a BOE 144Hz panel and has minimal flex. When reducing brightness below 99%, this model / panel uses pulse width modulation (PWM) at 200Hz - if your eyes are sensitive to flickering, this may affect you and cause eye strain. Best to test this in person, if you can, before buying. Backlight bleed was negligible, but your mileage may vary.

Keyboard - Single-RGB lit keyboard that has a premium look and feel. Note that key presses are shallow and take some getting used to. Biggest consideration is the layout. The 'up arrow' is in between '?' and the 'right shift'. If you use 'right shift', you will tend to press the 'up arrow' instead. Also, this makes using the arrow keys quite awkward. This may go away once you get used to the keyboard layout.

Trackpad - Extra-large and best in class.

Speakers - Decent sounding and they can go quite loud. There isn't much bass but then again most laptops are similar if not worse.

Performance - Better than average but not top of its class in synthetic tests. SSD and HDD benchmarks were also good. See attached. Both 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD are made by Samsung. 1TB HDD (5400rpm) is from Seagate.

Thermals - During CPU/GPU intensive tasks, the section above the keyboard ran about 45 degrees Celsius. The keyboard was warm but not uncomfortable. On idle, the machine was silent.

Size and Weight - Thin and light. It is thicker than its Advanced counterpart by 2mm (19.9mm total width) but this is unnoticeable unless compared side by side. Weight is 4.6lbs and, as mentioned, the machine is solidly constructed.

Warranty - Comes with a 1-year limited warranty from Razer. There are many stories outlining Razer's challenges with customer service, warranty, and RMAs. If you experience any issues with the machine, you will need to RMA and send it back to Razer in the US. There are many instances where duties / taxes were charged back to the consumer. It is reported that Razer is trying to overhaul and provide a great customer service experience, but it is still early days with less positive proof points than there are negative ones over its history. If this concerns you, best to investigate getting a third-party warranty.

Overall, it is a premium laptop that comes with an appropriate price tag and some considerations. It is very well built and is oriented to performance while being thin and light, all at the same time.

There's a lot of mixed reviews out there for this thing. Yes, it does get warmish/hot... its a gaming laptop...you can't have crazy specs, be super thin, light, and expect the computer to stay cool with the amount of space to regulate the temps. Same thing goes for the fans, of course they're gonna kick in while you're playing...you put stress on all the performing parts, so the fan's RPMs need to increase in order to keep the parts cool. For battery, I think it's sufficient, you shouldn't be playing AAA games on ultra settings not plugged in anyways. Just browsing the internet on battery savings mode you'll hit around 6 hours on a full battery, which is enough for me. The build quality is top notch, track pad is amazing, looks awesome, no regrets. The only thing I wish this laptop had was the ability for 64GB of RAM (only 32, the advanced model has the capabilities of 64GB), but I wanted an ethernet port more, so it was a trade off. Overall, I'm glad I purchased it.

UPDATE: The battery became swollen after a year of use. I’d assume it’s because I leave it plugged in even when I’m not using it. Razer offered to replace it for me, but I opted out since I’d be without my laptop for a couple weeks. I ended up just removing the battery and leaving it plugged in. If you’re like me I suggest removing the battery and putting it back in when you decide to take it somewhere. Still no regrets though, the battery thing was my fault.

Note: This is the base model and does not allow per key customization for that RGB stuff. That’s lame since it has the capability. It’s limited so you spend more for the advanced model. Kinda of a crap move by razor. Dropped rating to 4

Amazing build quality! I got the base model with 2060/512gb. The 512gb drive that comes with it is fast but off brand. I put in a Samsung 970 Pro which I highly recommend! Upgrading is super easy as Razer put everything on top when you take off the bottom. My MSI GS63 was a nightmare! Razer was very thoughtful in the upgrade department! Installing Linux was a breeze, I installed KDE Neon and everything worked out of the box! Very very happy with this laptop!

The fans will just crank up out of nowhere with one app open! I am returning this laptop, just to many compromises for such an expensive device!
