Although I am very satisfied with my iPad Pro 12.9" (2018), the Apple virus got hold of me again and it had to be the new iPad Pro 12.9" (2021)!
As a normal user, I regularly use my iPad for the Internet, checking e-mail, editing a video now and then, slide show, Netflix etc. In the evening on the sofa or on vacation
I don’t do complicated photo editing, video editing, high-resolution games or other professional things with it, if only very rarely and then on my MacBook Pro.
What's new or the same on the iPad Pro (2021)?
I just want to limit myself to the most important things here.
    - Design : Actually identical to the 2020. It should be slightly thicker and heavier. I can't see any difference. Oh yes, the two speaker grills below have become a bit smaller.
    The 2020 keyboard fits.
    - Performance: In contrast to its predecessors, the new Apple M1 processor is installed here.
It should bring 50% more power. The GPU 40% more power.
    - Display: Only the 12.9" has the new XDR display with mini LEDs, this should be a bit brighter and have more contrast. Important: The 11" (2021) has the old 2020 display.
    - Mobility: 5G for the version with cellular support.
    - Connections: The UCB C connection now has an even faster transfer rate, e.g. for external displays, storage media, etc
    - Camera : The camera on the back is identical to the 2020 model.
The camera on the display side (selfie camera) has increased from 7 to 12 megapixels and now has a "tracking mode".
    Conclusion:
The iPad Pro 12.9" (2021) is a good further development with some good improvements.
I have to particularly emphasize the new display, where the difference can already be seen.
The display is especially fun with films in HDR. The black level is top.
I don't notice the full performance of the M1 processor that much in normal use (Internet, e-mail, etc.) and will probably mainly come to the fore in computing-intensive applications.
12.9" is a great size and the surcharge is worth it me me! I can only recommend.
Otherwise, the iPad is once again top-quality and fun to use.
I am happy. For me 5 stars

Ever since I held my first iPad in my hands in 2016, one thing has been absolutely clear to me: In the tablet sector, Apple is (for me) a very clear must-have. Nevertheless, when the new iPad Pro models (5th generation) were presented at the keynote in April, I was a bit skeptical about how big the differences between my iPad Pro 12.9 inch 2020 (Wi-Fi + Cellular) and the iPad Pro 12, 9 inch 2021 (Wi-Fi + Cellular) would be. It is precisely these differences that we are now dedicating ourselves to in a detailed comparison:

What does the iPad Pro 12.9 inch 2021 (Wi-Fi + Cellular) offer in contrast to the 2020 counterpart?
    - The efficient and durable M1 chip (with 128GB, 256GB, 512GB ROM -> 8GB RAM, with 1TB or 2TB ROM -> 16GB RAM)
    - An XDR display with mini-LED, brightness: 600 nits remains the maximum typical brightness, full screen is now 1000 nits maximum brightness and HDR content is 1600 nits peak brightness
    - Smart HDR 3 for photos
    - Follow mode " "Keep in the Picture" for video conferencing and FaceTime
    - For the Wi-Fi + Cellular models: 5G (sub-6 GHz)
    - One Thunderbolt / USB 4 port

What's worse in the iPad Pro 12.9-inch 2021 (Wi-Fi + Cellular). than the 2020 counterpart:
    - The higher weight (684g instead of 643g) and the greater depth (6.4mm instead of 5.9mm), however: After a few hours of use, this doesn't really matter anymore ;)

Conclusion: Those who use an iPad Pro (usually) only want the best of the best and the newest of the newest and will (once again) get their money's worth here.

I replaced my 2-year-old MacBook Air with the new iPad Pro 12.9” because I mainly only use it for surfing, strolling, reading or on the go. The Mini LED Display is simply gigantic. Every time I use it I am amazed at how strong and full the colors look. When the battery is fully charged, it lasts me 2-3 days before I have to recharge it. I'm very satisfied so far.

Unfortunately, these Apple items were once again not available on Amazon, so we made another dealer happy.

After all, several 2021 iPad Pros 12.9 with all the bells and whistles and accessories.
    Stupid for Amazon Germany.

Now for the review in keywords and a very long word on Sunday regarding the display.

    Case workmanship: Very good
Sound quality: Good (relative to the size of the
    case: very good.
    Slight drone from 85%)

    Web image quality: Good
    Apps image quality: Very good
Movie image quality: Good (HD), Good (4K)*
    Impressive (HDR) *

Camera ( Photo ): Both Fair
Camera ( Video ): Good- Very Good.
    LIDAR: Surprisingly good
    Battery: On previous level
    Heat generation: Barely
    Speed: Impressive
    WLAN speed: +10%. 100 line.
    Instead of 88 now 98 mbit/s.
    LTE/ 5G speed: + 15% with LTE. Instead of
    53 now 60 Mbit/s.

    **
    Display: Is a little cheating.
The iPad Pro 2021 only ignites the rockets with "real 4K HDR" content.
As with the Watch 5 with the very dedicated always on display, Apple accidentally forgets to point out the limited effectiveness.

If you watch an HD or 4K film, there are only minimal differences to the 2020 model.
Still very good…no question…. but clearly behind a Samsung amoled.

It becomes even clearer if you don't use Apple TV but z. B. Disney+ or even Amazon Prime Video content viewed on the 2021 iPad. The picture drowns almost as much in black as all non-oled devices and the colors seem somehow too dark and washed out.

    But….

If you watch a 4K HDR film on the Apple TV app, it can get really bright in the dollhouse.
Here the display shows great contrast and dynamics. Suddenly you have another device in front of you.
The lights literally shine in the middle of the night.
    The sunglasses should be nearby.

And if you then look at the OLED or HDR showroom videos…. everything is forgiven!
Incredibly close to OLED .... with beautiful intense but never artificial colors.

Incidentally, I have the impression that the video image as well as the simplest apps symbols do not appear completely fluid with fast horizontal movements, but rather the whole thing stutters slightly and draws streaks.
This problem is well known in iPads.
Officially, something like this is probably called moving blur and could really get on your nerves in the long run.
It is mainly due to the viewing distance to the display.
And there lies the main problem. 12.9 inches would
probably require 2m arms to no longer really perceive the whole misery.
And all this despite the 120 display.
With the smaller IPad or the IPhones you don't see it quite so clearly.

    Summary:
Unfortunately, it is very difficult to show the incredible image quality and beautiful brilliance of the display in the photos.

Despite motion blur and high price.
Despite limitations with 1000 or 1600 nits videos.

    This iPad is incredibly powerful.
A real racing machine by today's standards.

Can present colors and luminosity in an unimagined quality and
sounds very good for the super slim dimensions.

5 stars because there is no 5.5.

By far the best tablet on the market. It's terribly expensive, I didn't really need it, but I just wanted it, simply because it's cool. Yes, this horniness and I just want to have that thing is only available from Apple. Now after two weeks of use I wouldn't give it up. Android crap doesn't come into my house, so the choice is pretty easy. How innovative this iPad Pro (2021 12.9) can be operated, how all Apple products communicate with each other and with each other, there are no crashes, everything just works, always, always, always. Nothing can keep up with Android, Apple. Apple is above everything. This tab is beyond all doubt and will still be top in 6.7 years, there is nothing more to say.

Coming from an iPad Pro 9.7 inch from 2016, I have now upgraded to the iPad Pro 12.9 M1. What can I say? In terms of quality and performance, the M1 iPad is actually the best iPad ever designed and produced.

The performance is unbeatably good. Processes are really done in a flash and everything opens at breakneck speed. Apple and the app developers will probably have to do a lot here to keep the process busy in the future. I think in some time we will see a big leap towards iPad OS.

As far as the display of the M1 iPad is concerned, I'm really positively surprised. The black values and the contrast are really uniquely good due to the mini LED display (especially if you come from an older iPad). Blooming is an issue here and there, but I was only able to recreate it in extreme situations: i.e. especially with extreme display brightness and darkness in the room at the same time. Please don't be fooled by all the photos. With your own eyes, it all looks completely different and excellent!

My conclusion: I can warmly recommend the M1 iPad to anyone who comes from an older iPad in particular. In any case, with the M1 iPad you are future-proof for some time. The performance and the mini LED display are definitely the dominant purchase criteria for me.

I switched from the 2018 iPad Pro 11''. I thought about it for a long time because the new one is a bit expensive at 1,500 euros... 😕 But I really wanted to have a larger iPad. I "only" use it for e-mails, reading the newspaper, browsing the Internet, looking at photos, etc... and therefore really didn't need a higher processor performance - but the "I want it effect" was then stronger than the account... 😉

I spare technical differences here - everyone can read them for themselves.

I describe here the direct "tangible" and visible differences for me: In terms

of size, it's really quite a bit bigger and also heavier - but that doesn't bother me.
It is very slightly thicker (see photos) - but it is not noticeable at all.
The quality and workmanship is PERFECT, as usual with Apple 👍
I can't see any visible difference in the brightness and brilliance of the screen. OK.. the white could be a little brighter - but that's certainly not worth the price surcharge...
The data was transferred from the old iPad within a quarter of an hour - perfect.

The biggest advantage for me, apart from the larger display area, is actually the overlaid keyboard - it's finally like a "real" keyboard!!! With number bar at the top - sharp "ß" in the right place etc. etc. Reading the

newspaper online is now also a blessing thanks to the larger display. Everything is really easier to read - especially with the larger display.

For me the switch was worth it because I went from 11'' to 12.9'' - but I don't think it's really worth switching from an older 12.9'' to this current model. There are too few "tangible" differences.

Addendum from 05/30/21: because there is currently talk of "blooming" with this display - bright letters or graphics are supposed to outshine on a black/dark background... In some tests this is shown as negative. So - I've been trying to figure out what blooming is and what it looks like... I haven't been able to put anything that looks 'negative' or 'blooming' on this iPad! I just love the display! Everything is razor sharp and colorful - just great. 👍
So - don't let these tests unsettle you, where it's done badly 😉

Addendum from 06/23/2021: I haven't regretted the purchase! The iPad is really great! I quickly got used to the new size and don't want to be without it anymore. I gave the "old" small iPad to my wife - and every time I hold it in my hand again, I think to myself "oh wow - is that small - how can you work with it?"...😄 Never again under 12 '9'!!
